Sorry guys, I've been crazy busy the last two weeks. Here we go, my picks for the first week of July.
MUSIC VIDEOS:
Manchester Orchestra - Simple Math (Dir: Daniels)
I'd watched this video 2 months ago. Daniels director team have created their best music video, and easily the best music video I’ve seen thus far in 2011."DANIELS haven’t just made a brilliant music video, they’ve made an impressive short film, and when paired with Manchester Orchestra’s raw, cacophonous punch, it makes for an intriguing, intelligent, incredible accompaniment."
Portugal. The Man - Sleep Forever (Dir: Michael Ragen)
This long-form music video combines two tracks from Portugal: “Sleep Alone” and “Got It All" (This Can’t Be Living Now). This video was shot in vocalist John Gourley’s home state of Alaska in stunning high definition.
IS TROPICAL - THE GREEKS (Dir: MEGAFORCE)
A bloody all our war between kids with guns and a big imagination. I loved it as much as I was disturbed by it! :D
Moby - After (Dir: Alberto Gomez)
This is the winner of the Hello, Future video challenge contest, beating out over 500 other entries.
SHORTFILMS:
Splitscreen: A Love Story (Dir: JW Griffiths)
Shot entirely on the Nokia N8 mobile phone. Winner of the Nokia Shorts competition 2011.
AMNESTY INTERNATIONAL - 50 years (Dir: Carlos Lascano)
Official Spot for the 50th anniversary of Amnesty International. This is incredible! Such a stunning way to deliver a whole range of important messages.
